[BN] The Details
Jun. 28th, 2011 01:51 amAge/Appearance: Rizzitix is a 22 year old goblin female; she stands at roughly 3'1", making her barely taller than the average of her species. She has pointed features, a long, pinched nose, sharp teeth, large hands and violet eyes. She's usually dressed in some sort of leather, and she dresses under the impression that more skin equals better fashion sense. (And she's nothing if not sensible.)

Here are some pictures of outfits Rizz would be likely to wear generally. The clothes might change slightly but generally speaking, this is the kind of stuff she'd walk around in on a normal basis, and most of the clothing is made by her.

History: Rizzitix was born on the Isle of Kezan twenty years before the Cataclysm, and for about fifteen of those years, she lived with her mother (her father having died thanks to faulty wiring in a bomb-powered trike prototype), as well as two sisters and one brother. Their family was relatively small, compared to most other goblin families, but again, you can thank the faulty wiring for that one. By the time she was sixteen, Rizzitix had developed an overt fondness for petty thievery and skulking in the shadows, which was considered rather unusual for her race, due to the fact that they preferred to outright con and be conned, rather than stalk or be stalked. For the most part, she learned how to skulk in the shadows, pick locks and pick pockets entirely on her own, which was just fine with her. Though she was generally on her own most of the time, she did have a few friends - more like aquaintances, really; people who had her back when she needed it, and to whom she'd return the favor. During these younger, flightier years, Rizzitix found herself going through several failed relationships; most of the goblins she met were either put off by her sneakier demeanor, found out that she was lying about everything from her name to her age to how many other people she was seeing at the time, and one particular boyfriend went missing for a few days when her friends heard that he had been doing similarly to her. He'd showed back up and gracefully let her dump him in a very public manner.
Only a few months after her twentieth birthday, while watching a good old fashioned game of footbomb, Rizzitix (and every other Kezanian) were awed and shocked to see a monstrous dragon, Deathwing, the destroyer of everything and overall best candidate for fitting name, fly overhead just as the winning goal was scored. The ground began to shake as Deathwing triggered the immanent explosion of the volcano at the center of the island; while attempting to return home (to pack her shit and get the hell out of Dodge), Rizzitix learned that the Trade Prince Gallywix was beginning evacuations. All it would cost was... well. All of her savings. The one thing that the Trade Prince was counting on was that, while goblins love money, they also really love being alive to have that money, and that was exactly Rizzitix's feelings as she happily handed over her life's savings to obtain safe passage off the island.
The one problem was, of course, that Gallywix had taken all of her money, as well as the money of many other goblins, and had each and every one of them thrown below deck. The plan had been to take the money, head to the mainland and make even more of a fortune selling the goblins as slaves. (Rizzitix had admired the plan, despite being pissed off beyond all belief.) The ship set sail as the island was completely engulfed in flame and lava, and despite three separate attempts to sneak out of the prison, Rizzitix was unable to do much of anything but wait.
Which she did. For four days, she and the other goblin prisoners jeered and shouted and practically rioted under Gallywix's feet, and several half-assed and most likely lethal escape plans were hatched. None of them had time to come to fruition, however; by the fourth day, the ship was deep into a fog bank, and the navigators were well lost. Many of the goblins were concerned that they were probably going to die of starvation, and Rizzitix was pretty sure she'd rather stayed on the damned island. Then came the explosions.
As the fog thinned, the clear sounds of battle could be heard across the water. Several Alliance ships had opened fire on a Horde ship, and in order to prevent any witnesses, the Alliance opened fire on the goblin ship as well. Within minutes, the ship began to sink, and while Gallywix and his cronies took to the escape pods, Rizzitix and the rest of the prisoners were left to drown. The ship broke apart as it sank, and Rizzitix, holding her breath for as long as she could, managed to tear an opening in the hull with the help of a few other prisoners. As the ship became completely submerged, Rizzitix and a handful of surviving prisoners managed to reach the surface, grabbing onto whatever wreckage they could to save themselves.
The wreckage eventually ended up on the shores of the Lost Isles, where Rizzitix found the survivors of the eruption already setting up camp by way of a handy little Town-in-a-Box. She, along with many other goblins, was surprised to find that someone had bothered to save Gallywix after all the money he'd stolen. (Never mind the slavery bit, that was shrewd business planning.) Nevertheless, she was glad to find that they were already setting up camp, even if it was shabby and she just barely found a bed for herself. She spent a few days looking for her siblings and her mother, but gave up the cause when her interrogations got her nowhere. It was likely that they had either perished in the volcano blasts or drowned on the ship, though Rizzitix never recalled seeing them down in the brig.
The Trade Prince, maddened by his loss of power, went just a little bit insane - and by a little bit, I mean batshit. He tried to enslave the entire goblin town in order to begin mining the kaja'mite found on the isle; however, the former Warchief Thrall, along with some goblin who'd been trying to usurp the Trade Prince for months, overtook Gallywix and forced him to surrender. Rizzitix and the rest of the goblins found themselves suddenly placed on the Horde's side, after being neutral for so long, but after the Alliance attack on the goblin ship, Rizzitix really didn't see a problem with that. It was all the same to her, really, except now, as Thrall sent them to Orgrimmar to meet with Garrosh Hellscream, the new Warchief, Rizzitix realized that she was going to be able to steal, cheat, stalk and kill whomever she wanted, so long as they were on the Alliance's side. That worked okay for her.
Arriving in Bladefist Bay, the goblin cartel quickly set up camp in what became known as the goblin slums in Orgrimmar. It was pretty slap-dash, and Rizzitix didn't stick around for long; she immediately went looking for work to make up her lost fortune, ending up in a den of rogues in Orgrimmar who were willing to teach her some classier methods of disposing of targets. After she nearly broke the hospitality found in the Cleft of Shadow, word went out that there was work to be done in Azshara, located to the north of Orgrimmar. Ready to spread her wings and see what the Horde had to offer, Rizzitix left to help out with whatever they needed her to do. She made a killing (literally and metaphorically) when it came to hunting down night elves who were attempting to sabotage the new strip mine in the area, and spent some time working on the Rocketway that was being built to help facilitate movement around the area.
This went on for about a year and a half; by the time Rizzitix was getting bored of dealing with the various issues that came up in Azshara, the goblins had built up the massive Bilgewater Harbor, which had become a more permanent residence for the goblins who now found themselves allied with the Horde. It was while visiting the city that Rizzitix found her brother, who had joined the Bilgewater Battalion - an army built up solely for the purpose of defending the Harbor in case of attack. Her mother and one of her sisters were alive as well; her mother was working in the inn, and her sister had taken up shipping and marketing items to Orgrimmar and beyond. Her other sister, however, was still missing, and they all presumed she was dead.
Now that (practically) every loose end had been tied up for her, Rizzitix decided it was time to move on up and see what else the Horde had in store for her. Returning to Orgrimmar, she found that she really didn't want to stick around for long; the Warchief wasn't too big on goblins, and the slums were as crappy as ever, and it just plain didn't feel right. Thankfully, only a few days after she arrived, a new order came out from the Warchief that all able-bodied warriors were to go to Stonetalon Mountains, in order to fight off the Alliance in the contested territory.
On her arrival, Rizzitix was enlisted in Krom'gar's army as a mere grunt, working for a low wage and doing the more menial tasks that were sent her way. However, while working to fight off the night elves encroaching on the Horde's territory, Rizzitix took to picking the pocket of a particularly wealthy looking huntress. Instead of filching any cash, however, she found herself now in the possession of attack plans the Alliance had against the nearby Krom'gar Fortress. She was quickly instructed to take the plans straight to Krom'gar himself; when he realized what she had given him, he promoted her to a sergeant of his army. This led to more pay, which led to a happier goblin, who then gladly went to work helping prevent the attack she had warned them of. She was also sent to Malaka'jin, an outpost of the Horde's which was under heavy Alliance attack, and helped the trolls there before being called back to Krom'gar in order to receive a promotion and a big heaping of praise, which basically made Rizzitix's entire weekend. She was so pleased by her bigger paycheck and nicely stroked ego that she happily ignored any warning signs from Krom'gar as he told her of her next mission.
According to him, the night elf druids who lived near Cliffwalker Post, a Tauren base camp within the mountains, had constructed a weapon of mass destruction that would wipe out the fortress. At his command, Rizzitix escorted a large bomb to a goblin outpost on the way to Cliffwalker Post. There, she found no reason to question her duties as Alliance spies attempted to infiltrate the Sludgewerks, reassuring her that the Alliance was out to cause more than property damage to her and her kin. After all, they'd blown up a neutral goblin ship, attacked goblin workers in Azshara, forced the goblins to mobilize their own protective army for the Harbor, and throughout her time in Stonetalon, they constantly attacked her and any other goblins without hesitating to think about whether or not they might be neutral like their racial cousins, or to at least bargain with them. What kind of person didn't know bargaining with a goblin was much more effective and less bloody than trying to kill them?
Once the air balloon was refueled and the bomb prepped, Rizzitix escorted it to Cliffwalker Post, where she was met by General Greebo of the Krom'gar Army. He explained that the Tauren of the post were convinced that the tree where the druids were located was in fact merely a school, and had no weapons whatsoever. It made sense, since druids were generally peaceful and neutral - at the same time, Taurens and night elves had a close relationship due to their mutual interest in druidism, and Rizzitix found herself wondering who, exactly, was right here. Chieftain Cliffwalker explained to her that he had sent his son to the tree to gather proof in defense of the druid school, but he had yet to return. Eager to get things sorted out - the sooner, the faster she could get paid - Rizzitix snuck off using the tricks she had grown to depend on in order to meet up with Cliffwalker's son and see what he had found. It was either that, or she'd see the weapon with her own eyes.
What she found shocked her. The druids were in a panic over something, and when Rizzitix slipped into the school, she found the place strewn with night elf bodies, as well as the body of Cliffwalker's son. In his clenched fist was a Krom'gar general's insignia, ripped right from someone's uniform. The general obviously had realized there was no reason to destroy the school, and had come to hush up anyone who might prove otherwise. Rizzitix wasn't unfamiliar with this sort of scam, and there were times when it didn't seem like a bad idea, but at that moment, she was ready to rip off her own insignia and head for the hills. Recalling what it had been like to not know whether or not her own family had survived the trip to the mainland, however, Rizzitix took it upon herself to let Cliffwalker know the bad news. He didn't take it well.
In fact, he immediately turned to face the general who lost his insignia - Greebo. The general didn't find this to be at all alarming; in fact, he laughed and mocked the Chieftain and his wife for being spineless traitors to the Horde before attacking both of them, as well as Rizzitix. Luckily, she managed to get lost in the heat of battle - it happened when you were three feet tall and really unwilling to get killed - and the Chieftain managed to kill both Greebo and his guards. Of course, as it stood, if Krom'gar arrived at that moment, all three of them would likely have been killed for treason. Rizzitix explained to the Cliffwalkers that she would take care of it, and returned to the fortress to explain what happened.
Krom'gar, revealing his true colors, ignored the entire first part of the story (the part where Greebo had tried to cover up faulty intelligence), and claimed that the Taurens had committed high treason and would be immediately put to death. Rizzitix really didn't like where this was going, and really didn't like the fact that she had accepted a sizeable amount of money from a whack-job who didn't seem to care that innocent people had nearly been killed, and so when he left to face the Taurens, she quickly joined him, hoping to contain the situation.
On their arrival to the post, Krom'gar immediately sets fire to the entire village, killing Cliffwalker's wife in the process, before forcing him to watch as he set the bomb on its way to take out the druid school. Rizzitix found herself paralyzed at the two most important moments of her life; she was unable to convince Krom'gar not to burn down the post and then, as he released the bomb, she found herself unable to tell him to stop, horrified by what was going on and what she had helped facilitate.
Before she could gather her wits and get the hell out of there, there was a blinding light as a portal straight from Orgrimmar opened, and the Warchief Garrosh stepped through. Though Krom'gar attempted to explain himself as having done everything for the Horde, Garrosh silenced him, first by explaining to him that honor was everything and that, by killing innocents, he had brought shame to the Horde - then, by dropping him off the side of a cliff. Rizzitix found herself staring up (way up) into the eyes of the Warchief for the first time as he prepared to toss her off the cliff as well, but Cliffwalker pleaded for her life. Surprised by the Tauren's selflessness, Garrosh let Rizzitix go with her life, returning to Orgrimmar and leaving her reeling.
The force of the blast had directed the hot air balloon back towards the post, and with Cliffwalker's help, she managed to bring it in close enough to board it; despite her protests, the Tauren supplied her with food and water for the trip, and sent her on her way - wherever that might've been. Rizzitix, unable to understand what the hell she'd just been through and what the hell she was doing working for people who believed that killing a tree full of young night elves was a good idea, found herself steering the balloon back towards Silverwind Refuge, the first post she had entered in the mountains. One thing was certain, though - Garrosh, for all of his bigotry, was not her enemy here, and she wasn't about to leave the Horde over something some insane orc had done.
It was as the sun was setting, and the smoke from the explosion began to fade in the distance, that Rizzitix looked over the side of her hot air balloon and found herself looking at a very strange looking city...

Personality: There are two parts to Rizzitix's personality: the professional side and the personal side. There are very few people who get to see her as anything but a smooth-talking, short-tempered goblin with no shortage of witticisms or opinions; those who do tend to see that she's not quite as self-assured as she might appear to be, and she can be seriously offended or hurt by even the lightest passing remarks.
To most people, Rizz tends to seem more interested in business than forming serious, steadfast bonds of friendship. She likes to work alone, and having too many people she has to care about only seems like a burden to her. She's hot-headed, with a short temper that usually provokes her into snarking at anyone who needs a lesson taught to them about how to talk to a lady properly, and she's not afraid to voice her opinions. When she talks to people she considered potential customers or even potential marks, she tends to try and sweet-talk them, complimenting them and using whatever information she has to make them feel like she's someone they can trust.
Her act of trustworthiness isn't all a lie, however. Despite the fact that goblins often lie and cheat in order to gain their wealth, every goblin has some sort of line they won't cross, and Rizz is no different. She has a somewhat strict code of ethics, which she's followed in order to keep herself out of danger. It goes something like this: "Confidentiality is important to keep on people's good side. Don't rat people out for anything less than their business is worth as a whole. Keeping things discreet helps protect confidentiality; don't trade publicly. (Boast as much as you want, but money should never cross hands in public.) Stealing from the rich is more profitable than stealing from the poor; the poor will eventually become rich enough to be worth your time if you wait. And, most importantly, keep things civil: leave on a good note when you can, and when you can't, leave on a strong note. (Don't be afraid to make your point with weapons, if it needs to be made clearly and understandably.)"
It's with these basic rules that Rizz conducts all of her business as a goblin. As a rogue, things become slightly more muddled, but she does keep the general tenants. One specific point she tries to keep to is to steal from men instead of women. In her experience, men are the ones who need the money least; and besides, it fits into her roguish persona of being a femme fatale. (It's a mostly self-given title, since she doesn't kill all that often and most of the time, the men never notice her, so she doesn't use any wiles to charm them out of house and home. ...Most of the time.)
There is a point to be made about killing, here: she is a rogue, and so she is by no means unused to killing. As a member of the Horde, she has defended strip mines, harbors, outposts and herself to the enemy's death. She has killed several people for money; of course, her prices can be incredibly steep, depending on who the mark is. She doesn't believe in killing random civilians, however; this is one reason why Krom'gar's attack on the night elf school shook her so deeply. As far as she is concerned, in wartime, you try to limit the damages to the people who actually give a crap about what's going on; if they aren't enlisted, they aren't a problem. Of course, if a farmer comes at her with a pitchfork, she won't hesitate to defend herself.
On the flip side, those who manage to get close to Rizz will find themselves facing another, very different sort of goblin. Despite her tough exterior, sharp words from people she holds in high regard can cut her to the bone, and oftentimes this results in her getting truly upset. Instead of brashly shouting at the offending person, she will become very quiet and short with them, often leaving on very little notice or with any real indication that she's actually mad or upset with them. She's never been very attached to anyone; her family is important to her, but being separated from them doesn't pose very much of an inconvenience. When she had thought they were dead, she was obviously saddened by the fact, but her relationship with her family is such that she never felt the need to be enraged or depressed by the fact that they might've been dead.
She isn't necessarily hard to get close too, either, despite her demeanor; while she tries very hard to push people away, compassionate words and comforting presences will inevitably get her to open up. Goblins generally don't attempt to get to know many people by more than their first impression, preferring to let money do most of the talking in their conversations and feeling more attached to a person's purse than their personality, and Rizz is especially prone to this, traveling so much and making so little effort to get to know people she'd met that the idea of sticking around long enough to know someone is foreign to her.
After the events in Stonetalon, Rizz has found herself at a loss as to what her real purpose is. Before the destruction of Kezan, she had assumed she would make a living filching off of others and, eventually, she would move on to scamming members of the Horde and Alliance. Then, with her newfound place in the Horde, she had decided that she could easily make a comfortable living infiltrating and sabotaging the Alliance; it served a two-fold purpose of making her financially more well off, as well as defending her people from the side in the war that had done them the most harm. Krom'gar's words about what it truly meant to be Horde, however, forced her to realize that if high ranking officers of the Horde were willing to kill innocents in order to win the war, perhaps the war really wasn't something she was willing to commit to. She's at a place mentally where she's unsure of where her loyalties should lie, and so upon her arrival in Bete Noire, she'll be focusing much more on trying to make a name for herself independent of her achievements with the Horde, to see if that feels better than being enlisted did.

Sexual Preferences/Orientation: "Sex is awesome. Seriously. The more sex the better. Especially with those hunky trolls skulking around the slums in Orgrimmar - I would climb them like a tree." ...Basically, Rizz isn't the most shy when it comes to the various different ways of getting it on. She treats it as a pretty straightforward issue, and isn't afraid to use sex for her advantage, if it's necessary. She doesn't discriminate, either; the only thing that can turn her off of someone attractive to her is if they make her pay for dinner first. She does have some reservations, though; humans, werewolves and the like would be regarded with caution initially, since they're a bit too closely related to the races in the Alliance for her comfort. Of course, as she gets used to the city and how it works, those reservations will be quick to go; after all, beggars can't be choosers. And obviously, that doesn't mean she can't flirt around a bit first...
Powers: Rizz, being a rogue, is excellent at blending into the background, the shadows, and any other place where you don't pay attention. She also is a fairly talented lock-picker and pick-pocketer, but those aren't particularly supernatural in any way. She's just had a lot of practice. (None of her talents will be used without player consent, obviously.)
